Movie That Matters Award, Cannes Film Festival, 2021

Daizy’s film ENOUGH! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour won the Movie That Matters Award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival Better World Fund Ethical Gold Gala. The award recognises Cinematic Art at the service of Humanity. Daizy’s film was recognises for its humanitarian effort to shed a spotlight on Lebanon’s plight and for pushing the idea of peaceful, humane and democratic change.

Previous award winners include Nobel Laureates, Academy, Globe and Grammy Awards winners such as: Spike Lee, H.S.H Prince Albert II, Sharon Stone, Forest Whitaker, Wim Wenders, Jean-Michel Cousteau, Mary J. Blige and Barry Alexander Brown.

ENOUGH! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour is a documentary directed by Australian-Lebanese filmmaker Daizy Gedeon. It follows her personal and independent observations of Lebanon’s descent into turmoil. Over the course of five years and across four continents, the documentary tracks the various crises afflicting the country, the 2019 October Revolution, the 2020 Beirut Port Explosion, and the worldwide social justice movement initiated by the Lebanese diaspora.
