Selected for one of 10 “copyboy” positions at News Limited out of 1200 applicants.

Appointed to role of Soccer writer for The Australian Newspaper. That appointment made me the first female sports writer on a newspaper in Australia; first female Soccer writer in Australia; first female sports writer on The Australian newspaper.

1988

Covered the Seoul Olympic Games

1988-1989

From Sports Reporting to War Correspondent – travelled to Lebanon and visited the Green Line as well as other areas of the country including Syrian Occupied areas, travelled through numerous military check points. Wrote a two-page feature in The Weekend Australian on the War in Lebanon.

Covered the Arab Summit in Baghdad and met many Arab leaders including Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein.

Moved to London and secured position as journalist on Channel 4 Morning News program.

Appointed Assistant Foreign Editor, The Australian Newspaper

Started production on first documentary film – Lebanon…Imprisoned Splendour.

Covered the historic signing of the Middle East Peace Treaty between Israel and Jordan in Wadi ‘Araba for The Australian

Lebanon…Imprisoned Splendour is released to international audiences and won US International Film& Video Festival Silver Screen Award for Best Documentary.

Daizy joins GDR Distributions Pty Ltd in part-time management capacity to close the business but accidentally started growing it. Company had turnover of less than $100k.

Take over as General Manager of GDR – Turnover increases to $500k

2007

Won a million dollar contract with Sensis Pty Ltd for GDR.

Daizy moves into role as Managing & Creative Director of GDR – Turnover increases to $2m.

GDR begins expansion into creative and online digital services.

GDR becomes first company to sign reseller Agreement with Australia Post to resell Unaddressed Mail Services giving GDR National footprint.
